John Linn

John W. Linn, Jr., 56, passed away on November 17 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Des Moines and attended Hoover High School.

John held various positions in the Des Moines area and most recently was a service tech at Window World. He was a “jack of all trades,” and could always be found in the garage starting a new project before finishing the previous one. John loved working on his Chevelle with his son and watching NASCAR.

John was a family oriented man and will be missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kim; children, Samantha (William) Penfold, Christian (Jamie) McFadden, Kevin (Kala) Linn, and Michael Linn; 7 grandchildren; siblings, Tammy Linn, Scott Linn, Jenny Montgomery, and Jack Linn; as well as his mom, Beverley Starace. He was preceded in death by his dad, John Linn, and beloved dog, Keyta.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at American Legion Post 731, 1511 South Union Street, Des Moines, IA 50315.
