Glenn L. Smith passed away peacefully at home on September 30th, 2019. Glenn is survived by his wife – Beverly; 3 children(spouses) – Jeff Smith (Tomoko), Jenny Russell (David), and Emily Smith; 5 grandchildren – McKenna, Claire, Teddy, Julia, and Johnny; grand dog (Cleo); brother(in-laws) – Jerry Smith (Bud Bellis and Dick Dyer); and 26 nieces/nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents – Ray and Bernice Smith; 6 siblings(spouses) – Ray Smith (Ellen), Betty Dyer, Jack Smith (Pat), Beverly Wade (Dick), (Becky), Joy Bellis, Paul Smith; and 2 nephews.

Glenn was a lawyer in the Finley Law firm for 49 years. He was active in supporting democratic politics and Planned Parenthood. As one of the youngest of eight siblings he had great love for family and always made himself available to those who needed him. He especially enjoyed spoiling his 5 grandchildren. Glenn liked music and musicals, cooking, and a good family card game. You could often see him singing a favorite song, drinking a cold root beer, or taking an evening walk. He was fond of family travel and was fortunate to enjoy his last family trip to Yellowstone with his wife, children(spouses), and grandchildren this past summer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East High School Alumni Scholarship Fund or Planned Parenthood of the Heartland.

A memorial service is planned at Plymouth Congregational Church on Saturday, December 28, 2019. It will take place from 9-11am in Waveland Hall. Burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
