Ruth Buchholtz

On September 16, 2019, at the age of 93, Ruth Buchholtz finally got to see her Savior that she so dearly loved.

Ruth was born November 18, 1925 in Alpha, Illinois to Henry and Irene Anderson. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Ruth enjoyed gardening. Taking care of others, especially her grandchildren, was her greatest love. Ruth worked in the china department at Younkers for many years. She was a member of Capitol City Baptist Church.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Larry (Charlotte) Buchholtz and Rick (Eva) Buchholtz; grandchildren, Scott (Caprice) Buchholtz, Elizabeth Buchholtz, Rebecca Buchholtz and Grant (Miho) Buchholtz; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Cody, Sydney, Alexa, Jaquie, Toby, Raef, Josiah, Elijah, Zakariyah, Allie and Zoe; great-great-granddaughters, Lucy and Khaleesi; as well as a host of extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; brother, William Anderson and sister, Evelyn Nichol.

The family will greet friends Monday, September 23, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 12 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Ruth will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Edwin at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
