Cynthia Jepson

Cynthia J. Jepson, 71, passed away at University Park Nursing and Rehab on September 10, 2019. She was born in Decatur, Illinois to Lester and Ruth Bough on February 23, 1948.

Cynthia was a graduate of East High School. She was united in marriage to Birk Jepson and became an excellent mom to three awesome boys. Cynthia was a second mom to many and their home was known as the “cool house” on the block.

Cynthia worked in the healthcare industry for many years. After retiring, she became the donut maker extraordinaire for Casey’s. She loved traveling where she collected restaurant menus and shot glasses. Cynthia was also an avid fan of NASCAR and snuck through bushes to meet Tony Stewart.

Cynthia will be remembered for her fun, caring and generous spirit. Survivors include her sons, Paul (Melody) Jepson, Brad Jepson, and Brent (Geri) Jepson; grandchildren, Heidi (Corey) Feagins, Eric Jepson, Kyle Jepson, Devin Munyon, Christopher Jepson, Steffan Jepson, and Ian Jepson; great-granddaughter, Nora Ruth Feagins; sisters, Debbie (Gary) Wolfrum and Rhonda (Don E) Abshire; nephews, Derek Bough, Steven Abshire, and Scott (Melissa Moon) Abshire; as well as other loving family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Ruth Bough, and brothers, Kenny and Lester Earl Bough.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with visitation one hour prior to service time.
