Patrick Jo Combs

Patrick Jo Combs, 48, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on May 29, 2019 at his home. Pat was a loving husband to his wife, Brandy; and devoted to his children, Steven, Amber, Myranda and Tyler (Amanda) Combs. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild; his siblings, Shawne Combs and Ronald (Peggy) Combs; his sister-in-law, Jackie Combs; his father, Jim (Vicky) Combs and mother, Betty Combs; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Pat was preceded in death by his brother, Randell.

Born on January 6, 1971, Pat grew up in the Dexter, IA area. He studied business at DMACC and later had his own company, Pat Combs Heating and Cooling. He was also a licensed plumber. Pat was a talented man who would give the shirt off his back to those who needed assistance. He was a mentor to many with his kind and caring heart. He was a born helper.

Pat was also a prankster and thought of himself as a comedian. He always had a joke, quip or song to share. He loved his family, and spending time with Brandy. They frequently enjoyed attending car races, antiquing, strolling the farmer’s market in Valley Junction and walking their kid dogs, Gidget and Chase. Pat also enjoyed collecting hot wheels and coins. He was the ultimate grandpa and loved the time spent sharing antics with his grandkids.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held Friday, June 14, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grace Church, 4200 E. 25th Street in Des Moines, Iowa.
