Gerry E. Wilson

Gerry E. Wilson, 85, passed away February 8, 2019, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born July 31, 1933, in Grant Township, Iowa, to Earl and Roberta Wilson.

Gerry graduated from Shannon City High School and then served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his service, he went to work as a farmer for many years, prior to moving to Des Moines in 1964, where he worked for Dahl’s at 35th & Ingersoll for 30 years.

Gerry is survived by Velma Owens; his children, Bruce (Jodi) Wilson and Valerie (Grant) Johnson; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandson; his brother, Ronnie Wilson; as well as a host of other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Wilson; daughter-in-law, Lisa Wilson; and sister, Janice Clark.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 12-2 p.m., on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
