Axel James Messner, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Axel was born the son of Shelby and Jereme Messner on November 6, 2018 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was loved by all who met him, and will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving parents; big sister, Arya; grandparents, Patrick and Janet Bussanmas; great aunt & uncle, Patty and Lenwood Messner; and other loving family members.

Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

Memorials donations may be directed to the Mercy Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in memory of Axel.
