Shane Damian York, age 41, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on June 21, 1977 in Des Moines, Iowa. Shane met Bobbie in High School and the two were married on April 26, 2014.

Growing up, Shane had a passion for playing baseball. Some of his hobbies and interests included, being an avid Green Bay Packers fan, he enjoyed watching movies especially comedies and superheroes. Shane was a quiet and shy man, but also a people pleaser and known for being an old fashioned gentleman who simply loved being in love. He will be remembered most as a simple man, funny, kind and forgiving.

Everywhere Shane went he always shared with people how much he loved his wife. He enjoyed watching Bobbie garden and was eager to help her with any tasks as long as she was by his side, he was happy. He truly loved Bobbie with all of his heart and it was evident.

Shane had an undeniable bond and love for his twin brother, Damian, that could never be broken. Above all, Shane loved his children very much and was very proud of his family.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Bobbie; children, Dominic, Devin and Silas; his twin brother, Damian; sisters, Angel (Osborn) and Niki (Kevin); brothers, Anthony (Stacey) and John (Tereasa); father, Jim; in-laws, Bob and Debbie McCarl; best friend of over 30 years, Lambert Hutchison; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Shane was preceded in death by his loving mother, Linda.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Lee Town Church, 2720 State Ave., Des Moines.
