Dean Hall was born on March 7, 1931 as the only child of Roscoe and Freda Hall. He was welcomed into his Heavenly home on January 17, 2019. Dean graduated from Perry High School where he excelled in basketball, band, and vocal music.

Dean began his working life at his father's appliance business and then moved to Des Moines where he was employed by Remington Rand for over 30 years. He finished his working years at Priority Express as a courier. It was at Remington that he met Alice Phippen and they were later married in 1957. To this union was born two sons. Dean was a faithful husband for nearly 62 years. He took great pride in being a provider for his family.

Dean attended First Federated Church for many years and accepted Christ as his personal Savior in 2016. His family rests in knowing Dean is walking the streets of gold with his Savior.

Dean enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He radiated great pride in watching his grandchildren grow up to be successful citizens. He will be remembered for watching sprint car races, drinking Pepsi, and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes. His secret amusement for WWF still makes Alice shake her head.

Dean was proceeded in death by his parents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by wife, Alice; sons, David (Cindy) Hall of Sarasota, FL, Steve (Diane) Hall of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren Joel (Angela) Hall, Alivia (Jeremy) McDaniel, and Grant (Amy) Hall, all also from Ankeny. Dean's great-grandchildren included, Natalie, Charlotte, Cooper and Greta Hall and Piper and Micah McDaniel.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Urbandale Health Care Center for Dean's superb care for the past five years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Mission Church missionary fund.
