Henry P. Rodgers

Henry Paul Rodgers, 66, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018. He was born August 23, 1952 in Monroe, Iowa to Robert and Thelma Rodgers. He graduated from Centerville Community College and made a life as a farmer. He loved farming and when he had to leave it to pursue other work, he always longed to go back. He was a collector of cars and still owned his very first car – a ’64 Chevy. In his free time, he was an avid movie fan.

Henry is survived by his wife, Rina Escalante; step-son, Luis Mario Escalante; brother, Mark Rodgers; sister-in-law, Debbie Rodgers; niece, Crystal Rodgers; nephew, Matthew Rodgers; half-brother, Bill Jones; and cousin, Barbara Sease.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Thelma Rodgers and his half-brother, Fred Jones.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Our Lady of the Americas Catholic Church, 1271 E 9th Street, Des Moines followed by burial at Greencastle Cemetery in Colfax, IA.
