Linda D. De Hamer

Linda (Grigsby) De Hamer, 67, of New Castle, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Granger Nursing and Rehab. She was born January 24, 1951 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Rev. James and Lena (Puckett) Grigsby.

Linda was known for her spunk and sense of humor. She had the ability to laugh at herself even in the hard days. Linda was loving, kind and generous, always caring about others. She loved kids, animals, singing, gardening, and crafts.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters , Dawn (Brian) Stanley of Johnston, Iowa , and Shawndra (Burk) Tucker of Inman, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Breanna, Tori, Alex, Cassie, and John; her siblings, Sandra (Phillip) Meade of Noblesville, Indiana, Mike Grigsby of Fort Worth, TX, Vickie (Greg) House of New Castle, Indiana,Ty (Dr.Tom) Worster of Bloomington, Indiana, and Brenda (Don) Sparks of New Castle, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. James and Lena Grigsby and sister, Diane (Grigsby) York.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Reverends Brian Stanley and Phillip and Perry Meade will be officiating.
