Linda was born on November 30, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa to Raymond and Ruth Senecaut. She passed away at home surrounded by family and song on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the age of 70.

Linda grew up on the Eastside of Des Moines and graduated from East High School in 1967. She worked at American Republic until 1973 when she made the decision to be a stay-at-home mom. She became a self-employed business owner of S&S Cleaning, a partnership with her sister, Donna.

She married Robert John Short on July 18, 1969 in Des Moines, Iowa and they were married 49 years. John and Linda had three sons, Rob, Tony and Aaron. They shared many adventures and always treasured their life together. They both lived in respect and love for each other.

Linda lived a full life and carried all of her cherished memories with her. She was an inspiration to many and loved by all who knew her. In her fiery way of living, she had strength, compassion and faith.

Linda was a teacher of life, a patient listener and confidant. She was a poet and a songwriter who inspired and touched many lives. She had an insatiable sense of humor and an unwavering positive attitude. Linda was a very special lady with a genuine heart of an angel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Raymond Senecaut, sister, Nancy Senecaut and a child that she miscarried.

She is survived by her husband, Robert John Short; her children, Rob Short and partner Susan Coon-Potter, Tony Short and wife Bobbie Short, Aaron Earl Short and wife Kathleen Darling Short; grandchildren, Kailey, Madi, Stephen, Jacob, Jessica, Abileen and Rockwell; great-grandchildren, Carter, Avery and Sawyer; her siblings, Richard Senecaut and Donna Hanson.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Everystep Hospice for their wonderful care. They would like to extend gratitude to everyone who has shared their kindness, love and support.

In her honor, a Celebration of Life and Memorial for Linda Short will be Saturday, December 15, 4:30-8:00PM at the Elks Lodge (5420 NE 12th Ave., Des Moines, IA 50327).
