Laura was born on November 22, 1922, to Steve Bennett and Eva Cackler Bennett in Lucas, Iowa. Laura went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2018, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa.

Laura grew up in Lucas, Iowa and graduated from there. She married her high school sweetheart Gerald Stover in 1942 and they were married until his death in 1998. From that marriage came 5 children.

Laura served her country as a Navy WAVE during World War II. She was a Yeoman in the US Navy and served in the states doing clerical work. She loved and was so very proud to have been a Navy WAVE, and would literally light up when talking about it.

Laura was a member of Des Moines Restoration Branch Church (RLDS).

Laura was married to Harry Morgan in 2006 after her lifelong best friend Twyla introduced them. They had 17 great years together until his death in 2017. She was very fond of his son John who treated her like a mom and she truly valued his friendship.

Laura loved life itself, her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great great-grandkids. She loved her BINGO and all of her loving friends at church and the Norwoodville Community Center.

Laura is survived by her children, Paul (Mary Jo) Stover, Linda (Don) Streigle, Jill (Randy) Allred, and Jana (Dave) Winter; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald and late husband, Harry; son, Jim Stover; two brothers and three sisters, and great-granddaughter, Afton Goheen.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions will be received by the family and designated to a charity close to Laura’s heart.
