Debra Jo Carver

Debra Jo Carver, 63, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines after a brief illness.

Deb was born May 18, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa to Darrell and Joan (Edwards) McVey. She loved planting flowers in the spring and nurturing them throughout the summer. Deb enjoyed her constant companions - her lab babies Molly and Beau and her kitty Rocky.

Deb is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jeff Carver; son, Chris (Emily) Carver of Urbandale; step-son, Jeff (Michelle) Carver, Jr. of West Des Moines; step-daughter, Jennifer (Bruce) Mershbrock of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Tara Carver; father, Darrell McVey; brothers, Marty and Jeff McVey, both of Weldon and John McVey of Coralville; sister, Patty (Damon) Hall of Onalaska, WI; and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan McVey.

According to her wishes, cremation will occur. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
