Lillian “Lil” Carol Carreon, 61, passed away on November 20th, 2018. She was born February 20th, 1957, in Austin, TX. She was baptized at University Methodist Church in Austin, on May 26, 1957. She spent her younger days in Palacios, TX, but graduated from AC Jones High School (Beeville, TX) in 1975. She attended cosmetology school at Bee County College from 1975-1976. She moved to the Houston area in 1976 where she married Terry Carreon. They wed on September 2nd, 1977. Lil worked at Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in administration from 1982-1995. She and Terry shared 3 children together; Amber, Chris and Kirby. They moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 1995, where she lived for 5 years before moving to Des Moines, Iowa.

As a child, Lil was a tomboy. She loved hiding at the top of trees and chasing her siblings with frogs. She was always very mischievous and stubborn, and she kept everyone on their toes. She was always caring for others and willing to help with whatever was needed. She enjoyed playing the piano, coloring and painting. A few of her favorite things were elephants and all things purple. She was also very devoted to her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Lil was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2009. She went into remission in 2010 and the cancer returned in August of 2014.

She is survived by her mother, Imogene Tegge; children, Amber Blair (Luke Deters) and Chris Carreon (Melonie Olin); siblings, Beverly (Dick) Selby and Wallace Tegge; nephew, Kyle (Cristina) Roach; niece, Kendra (Dale) House; and 7 grand-children, Tyler, Zoey, Ashley, Zachary, Colton, Lily and Becksley.
She was preceded in death by her father Fred (Stanley) Tegge, daughter Kirby, daughter-in-law Dana, and grandbabies Zaylee and Zayna.

A visitation service will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on December 1st, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, 650 Ashworth Drive, Waukee, IA 50263. A second visitation service will be held in Sioux Falls, SD, in February 2019.” Date and time are to be determined. A graveside ceremony will be held at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, TX, in the summer of 2019, where Lil will be placed with her daughter Kirby.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for funeral expenses.
