David Ilo Thompson received his wings on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 48. David was born in Des Moines to Rosy Thompson and Michial Thompson on July 25, 1970. He was raised in Des Moines, attended North High School, and also lived in Newton, Iowa. David was well known for his kind heart. He had a heart of gold. He would do anything and everything he could to help. He really enjoyed working on cars, doing yard work, and taking things apart. He enjoyed parking cars during the Iowa State Fair. Most of all, he loved his coffee! David will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother Michial Thompson of Texas, sister Mildred (Rusty) Paris of Des Moines, step-sisters Candy Miller and Ashley Hayner both of Des Moines, step-brother John Hayner Jr. of Des Moines, nephews Michial Thompson, Randall (Kristina) Davenport of Des Moines, Sean (Melissa) Davenport of Kansas, Joseph (Kayanna) Davenport of Kansas, nieces Katie Thompson, Sara (Shawn) Mercer, Misty Davenport all of Des Moines, four great-nephews, one great-niece, aunts Betty Yeager and Betty (John) Loveless both of Des Moines, and many family and friends who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his mother Rosy Hayner, father John Hayner, grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

David also had an adopted family he lived with, loved, and cared a lot for – Johnathon, Renis, Tammy, April, John, TT, and many others.

Cremation has occurred and there will be no services held at this time.
