Service Details

Maureen “Tudi” Fisher, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Valley View Village. Maureen was born the daughter of Jackson and Glenna Foshe on December 6, 1936 in Granger, Iowa.

Tudi met the love of her life, Jim Fisher, in 1951. They were married September 26th, 1952. She joined the Lord eight days short of their 66th Anniversary. Tudi was a devoted wife, unbelievable Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, a Friend, a Fantastic Cook, literally a Clown, member of Des Moines First Church, and most importantly, now a member of God's Angels, as she dearly loved her Lord and Savior.

Tudi was the last living of eight children in her clan of Foshe's. She had five sisters and two brothers. She attended North High School in Des Moines. Tudi and Jim raised their family on the East side of Des Moines. She was a homemaker most of the time along with juggling the busy family schedules of music lessons and athletic events. She was very talented in many ways. One of her talents was creating ceramics as well as teaching classes at her sister's business, Les Soeurs. Tudi and Jim spent several winter months in Mesa, Arizona during retirement where she was a member of the Festival Kitchen Band. She played several instruments from the shower hose, tea pot and harmonica. Tudi also entertained several of the retirement communities as a Clown. She loved to minister to the "Old People" as she would say. To know Tudi, was to know how to live life at its fullest.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, James; children, Pamela (Bob) Sarlund, William (Robin) Fisher and Bradley (Roxanne) Fisher; 11 grandchildren, Ben Fisher, Stephanie Felice, Dustin Fisher, Dan Fisher, Brooke Fisher, Brittany Gering, Tim Sarlund, Amanda Sarlund, Ashlie Santini, Mark Fisher and Phillip Fisher; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday, September 24, 2018 at Des Moines First, 2725 Merle Hay Rd. in Des Moines with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Glendale Cemetery.
