Margaret Ellen Wieland

Margaret Ellen Wieland, 91, passed away July 11, 2018. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.

Margaret was born November 9, 1926 in Des Moines, IA to Anna and Frank Wieland. At the ripe age of 18, Margaret courageously moved to California in 1944 and continued her education. She later married and raised her family in Sothern California until returning to Des Moines in 1976. After returning, she worked for Parker Brothers and various other companies, before retiring.

Margaret enjoyed working with her hands on crafting and sewing projects, and refurbishing furniture and other projects. She also enjoyed going dancing, music and laughing with friends and family. Above all, she loved her family.

She is survived by her children, John (Susie) Taylor, Paul Taylor, and Mary (Fred) Neldner; grandchildren, Robert (Diane) Taylor, Marie (Fritz) Taylor, Kira (Chris) Brant, Greg Neldner, and Ian Taylor; great-grandson, Justin Taylor; her siblings, Ruth Ellsworth and Paul (Wanda) Wieland, and Larry (Kay) Wieland; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Richard; and siblings, Junior and Charles Wieland.
