Des Moines

Bruce Edwin Loper, 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 5, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born March 6, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa to Carroll and Madge (Daugherty) Loper. He graduated from Tech High School and was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. Bruce served in the U.S. Navy for four years aboard the USS Cleveland as an engine mechanic. He was a heavy truck mechanic and welder working for City Garage for over 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Loper; daughter, Lynann (Danny) Ruggero; step-sons, Chris Andersen and Tim (Christie) Griffis; three grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Madge Loper and his step-son, Dennis Griffis.
