Jennie Iola Rose, age 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2018, at Urbandale Health Care Center. She was born April 14, 1924, in Topeka, Kansas, to Ira and Sarah Ann Slater. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines. Jennie worked for Continental Western, Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, Drake University, and WHO. In her free time, she enjoyed rose gardening.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Nora) Rose and David (Meg) Rose; grandchildren, Stephen (Chelsea) Rose, Bridget Rose, and Samuel Rose. Jennie was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.

There will be no formal services held. Jennie will be laid to rest in Topeka, Kansas at Rochester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League. Funeral arrangements by Hamilton’s Funeral Home.
