Timothy D. Cooper, Jr.

Timothy DeVene Cooper, Jr., age 36, passed away tragically due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, June 17, 2018.

Tim was born November 20, 1981, in Des Moines, Iowa to Timothy D. Cooper, Sr. and Katherine M. (Chapman) Cooper. He attended East High School in Des Moines. Tim went on to become a certified welder, and a diesel mechanic working for Quality Service. He loved anything fast with wheels! He had a passion for fast motorcycles, ATVs, and 4-wheelers. He loved spending time with his family and his dog, Atticus. When he wasn’t riding his motorcycle, he was playing guitar.

He is survived by his son, Anthony Cooper; parents, Tim and Kathie Cooper; brother, Duston Cooper; grandmothers, Phyllis Cooper and Karen Chapman; nephew, Adair Cooper; and a host of other extended family and friends.

Tim was preceded in death by his son, Gauge Jo Cooper; grandfathers, Clarence Cooper and William Chapman, Sr.; and his great-grandfather, Melvin Beeson.

There will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Cremation will take place after the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family.
