Jean Lucille Davis

Jean Lucille Davis, 92, was born on October 15, 1925, in Mason City, Iowa, to John Thomas Harris and Louella Brown Harris. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1943.

On July 12, 1946, she married Robert E. Davis in Mason City. They had two daughters, Karen and Cheryl. As the wife of a career Army officer, Jean lived in Kentucky, Texas, California, Colorado, Panama, and Germany, before returning to Mason City in 1969. In 1976, Bob and Jean moved to Mission, Texas, where they lived until Bob’s death in 2000. Jean moved to Altoona, Iowa, in December, 2012.

Jean died on May 17, 2018, at Prairie Vista Village, Altoona. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Mildred Johnson, Mason City; two brothers, Arthur and Merle Harris, Mason City; and two brothers-in-law, Carl “Gus” Nolte and Robert I. Johnson, Mason City.

She is survived by daughter, Karen (Tim) Stevenson, Lake Oswego, OR; daughter, Cheryl (Mike) Omundson, Altoona; six grandchildren, Eric (Laura) Omundson, Bettendorf, Scott Stevenson, San Francisco, Mark Omundson, Oceanside, CA, Katie Stevenson, Lawrence, KS, Andrew Omundson, Altoona, and Kristi Omundson, Miami, FL; two great-grandchildren, Eva and Malachi Omundson, Bettendorf; two sisters, Dorothy Nolte, Mason City, and Lillian (Marvin) Baker, West Hills, CA; two sisters-in-law, Betty Lou Harris and Beverly Harris, Mason City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Medical School, Hamilton’s Funeral Home in charge. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Ira United Church in Ira, Iowa.
