John Harold Strouf
Des Moines
John Strouf was born in Milford, NE. He served in the army during WWII. After 18 years of supervisory positions at Solar Aircraft, he joined Dico and in 1979 was named company president. He retired in 1990.
John passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the age of 95.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughters, Joanne (David) Brugger and M.J. (Ruth) Strouf-Townsdin; daughter-in-law, Jan Strouf; three grandchildren, Melissa (Todd) Forsythe, Shana (Chad) Wagner, Yarrow (Hugh Tran) Riverbirch; and four great-grandchildren, Davis Wagner, Emma Wagner, Aubree Riverbirch and Elaina Tran. John was preceded in death by his son, John.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue, Des Moines. A private family burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to Calvin Community, 4210 Hickman Rd, Des Moines, IA 50310 in memory of John.

I was so sorry to learn of John's passing. Helen and I were Bayard high school classmates. I enjoyed visiting with John and Helen over the years. Many prayers to the Strouf family.
