Earldine “Earl” Boucher Jr. was the oldest of three boys born to Blanche and Earldine Sr. on September 6, 1931. He was born in Liberty, Iowa. He passed away at his home in Des Moines on April 16, 2018, under in home hospice care.

Earl met his wife Yvonne “Bonnie” Dunton at a roller skating rink at Dow Air Force Base. They met and fell in love and married October 13, 1951. They were married almost 62 years. They were blessed with four sons James, Robert, Allen, and David.

Earl proudly served for 27 years in the United States Air Force until honorable discharge in 1975.

Life after the Air Force included working as a mechanic at the post office for 20 years. He loved gardening and yard work. As a young boy, Earl was a caddy at a golf course and he enjoyed golfing in later years. He bowled on various leagues for over 20 years.

His pride and joy was his family and all his grandchildren.

Earl was a member of Grand View Luther Church and the American Postal Workers Union.

Earl is survived by his sons, Robert (Denise), Allen (Cindy), and David; grandchildren, Jessica Heggen, Mandie Heggen, Christopher (Tena) Boucher, Michael (Alicia) Boucher, Scott (Taylor) Boucher, and Jeffrey Boucher; great-grandchildren, Allison, Elizabeth, Troy, Ryan, Lourdes, Dylan, Daylon, Jordan, Jase, Domanic, Aiden, Royce, Blake, Brooklyn, and Greyson; great great-grandchildren, Rolan and Zane; as well as sister-in-law, Joanne Drinkwater; brother and sister-in-law, James and Phyllis Wheeler; special nephew, Bill Wheeler, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne; son, James; granddaughter, Marie; and 2 brothers.
