Mary Harlan, age 78, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. Mary was born the daughter of DeForrest and Mabel Rice on February 18, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Mary was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed raising her three children. Some of her hobbies and interests included, spending time with her beloved dog, Gizmo, going to Cutty’s, thrift shopping and especially loved watching QVC! Above all, she treasured time spent with her family.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her loving children, Julie Jones (Bill Hildebrand), Cindy Harlan, and Scott (Erica) Harlan; grandchildren, Alissa Jones, Ryan Joynes and Ashley Joynes; great-grandchildren, Rylee, Macie, and Trenton; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and beloved husband, Virgil Harlan; brother, Kenneth Rice; and sister, Kathryn Hulleman.
