John was a good man, and a great cop. I looked up to him when I was a young officer, and learned a lot from him. Though we worked together only a couple years, he had a huge impact on me. Every time I ran into him, we would reminisce of those days. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers will be with his family.

I knew John only for a while where he was working before he became ill. We chatted for a little while each day I saw him and he was always friendly and funny. He'll be missed. Condolences to his family.
