Noi Hoangvan, 84, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018, at his home in Jewell, Iowa.

Noi was born November 8, 1933, in Bankang Mounghoung, Vietnam to Omp Van and Deo Thi Hoang.

He enjoyed fishing, and being a handyman around the house. He was a member of the French Army during the Vietnam War. After the war ended he came to the United States in 1975 with his family. Noi worked for ISU for 19 years.

Noi is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Ting Hoang; his children Thuc Hoang, Khan (Samantha) Hoangvan, and Khamla (Fred Drew) Lovan; his grandchildren Christopher and Jennifer Hoangvan, Sebastian and Freddie Drew, and Tish and Liz McCann; sister-in-law and her family Thouang (Duke) Vanvilay, Phala, Nirimit and Pinsavan Vanvilay; brothers-in-law Boun Hoang and Ban (Sompong) Hoangvan and his children Somsai and Chitprasong Hoangvan; his many other loving family members Peng Lovan, Kang Killswat, Cho Killswat, Loung (Vilaikhone) Killswat, Noi (Tako) Killswat, Oi (Anthony) Sergio; Hai (Houng) Cam; Cheun Killswat; Thone (Dawn) Lovan; Thene Lovan, Lamnguen (Phet) Lokaphone and Don (Natalie) Lovan; and Donna Khamvanh, Vithoune, Vivath, and Phaylath Khamvanh.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Saturday January 20, 2018 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines. With a visitation one hour prior to services. Cremation will follow the service. Urn burial will take place in the Tai Dam section of Glendale Cemetery on Monday January 22, 2018

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Noi memory.
