Marguerite L. Fredregill, 88, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Marg was born April 12, 1929, in Decatur, Iowa, to John and Madge Lear. She loved taking care of her flowers & garden, feeding birds and watching wildlife in her backyard. She had a natural talent for sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Free Church and Dorcas Circle. Her church family was an important part of her life. She enjoyed cooking and was well known for her taco salad, cheesy potatoes and chicken & noodles. Marg was a very caring mother and loved her family unconditionally. Her gentle spirit, love and kindness will be greatly missed.

Marg worked at the State of Iowa, Department of Education in Teacher Certification for many years.

Marg will be missed by her daughters: Sandy (Al) Paris, of Runnells and Sue Larson of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She will also be missed by grandchildren; Mindy Kramer, Trisha Smith, Josh Larson, Greg Larson, Maggie Viggers, Tori Paris and great grandchildren; Natalie, Kenna, Owen, Jude, Elliot, Eleanor. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Koger and a brother, Keith Lear. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

The family will greet friends from 11 am until noon Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Interment will be at the Highland Memory Gardens.
