Richard D. Miller

Richard David Miller was born July 9, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Marion M. and Betty (McElvogue) Miller. He passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at the age of 71.

Richard was employed by National By Products for over 20 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing in his free time. Richard was a man with a heart of gold. He truly loved helping others and was very giving of help and time to anyone who needed it. He was a loving person who had a great sense of humor and he loved teasing people. Richard treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandson who was his pride and joy.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of almost 48 years, Michaele; daughter, Nicole (DJ) McNeeley; grandson, David McNeeley; brother, Jeff (Betty) Miller; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and special friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Miller, Harold Armstrong and Marion Miller; brother, Benjamin Miller; niece, Cynthia Miller; and his mother-in-law, Ethel Peters.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 600 6th Avenue, Des Moines. Family will begin greeting guests at 10:00 a.m.
