Michael David Stump was born November 22, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Donald Levi Stump and Louise Bell (Grove) Stump. He was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and worked in the customer service department of EDS for over 15 years until his retirement in 2007. He married Gail Frances Petty and they celebrated 42 years together until her death in 2012.

Michael passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny at the age of 71.

He is survived by his daughter, Christine (Chris) Eller; son, Steven Stump; grandchildren, Jacob Eller, Jonathan (Abby) Eller and Julianne Eller; and other extended family.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Louise Stump; wife, Gail; brother, Ted Stump; and sisters, Beverly Stump and Marjorie Herrick.

According to his wishes, cremation will occur after a private family viewing and no public services will be held.
