Cheryl A. Barber, 69, of Des Moines, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Cheryl was born September 8th, 1948, to Donna LaCosse Rintala in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was educated at Champion High School, in Ishpeming before moving to Iowa in 1967. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed the beauty of nature. Her hobbies included reading a good novel, completing crossword puzzles, traveling to exotic places, such as Jamaica, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Cheryl will be missed by her children: Brett Roby, of Rock Valley, Jerry (Christina) Roby, of Baxter, Andrew (Sarah) Roby, of Martensdale, her grandchildren: Catherine, Alexander, Lauren, Noelle, Kieran, and Karsten. She is survived by her parents, Donna and Paul Rintala, of Ishpeming, Michigan; her brother, Mike, of Ishpeming, Michigan, her brother, Pauly Joe, of Ishpeming, Michigan, her brother, Vern, of Negaunee, Michigan, and her sister, Paula Rintala Press, of Kentwood, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ron Barber, of Des Moines.
