Dorothy Mae Myers

Dorothy Mae Myers was born November 2, 1929 in La Porte City, Iowa. She passed away January 4, 2018 at Taylor House Hospice at the age of 88.

Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, which was a special ministry for her. Dorothy also loved caring for her little dog, Sophie.

She was active in the women’s and shut-in ministries at First Church of the Open Bible. She was a strong believer who loved Jesus with a heart full of faith and she will be greatly missed.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Oddis Myers; daughters, Robin (Mike) Dailey, Renee (Jerry) Chiaramonte and Rhonda (Kerry) Anderson; sister, Connie (Lee) Wells; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Grace Van Fleet and her sister, Betty Slager.

The family will greet friends Monday, January 8, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 12 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
