Alice E. Barlow

Alice Earline Barlow was born October 29, 1927, in Butte, Montana, to Benjiman and Alice Maybell (Ryan) Schmidt. She has been a resident of the Des Moines area since 1933. She was married Russell Barlow who precedes her in death. She worked in the Computer Mark-Up department for the U. S. Postal Service for 20 years until her retirement in 1999. Alice enjoyed fishing and traveling. She loved people and treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

Alice passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Fleur Heights Care Center at the age of 90.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 7th, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 8th, also at Hamilton’s, and will conclude with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Alice is survived by her children, Robert J. Eikleberry, Jessica (Dennis) Skove, Alice (Ray) Denin, Janet (Daren) Wheatley, and Sue (Keith) Wersinger; grandchildren, Danny, Chad, Sarah, Jenny, Chelsey, Joseph, Amber and Telsa; numerous great-grandchildren; and niece, Valerie Clark.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjiman and Alice Schmidt; sister, Helen Clark; and brother, Jack Gregory.
