Elizabeth "Betty" Anne Harden

Betty Anne Harden passed away November 20, 2017, at Taylor House Hospice surrounded by her loved ones. She was born April 17, 1939, in Des Moines to Ernest and Elizabeth Paulsen.

Betty started her career as a nurse at Lutheran Hospital. She served as director of surgery at Mercy Medical Center and Iowa Methodist during her nursing career. Betty was former president of AORN of Iowa.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Mike; sons, David (Janet), Chris (Shelly), and Jeff (Shannon); grandchildren, Cory, Emily, Dakota, and Paige. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mike; and brothers, Bill and Kurt Paulsen.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2017, at Luther Memorial Church, 1201 Grandview Avenue in Des Moines. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 26th from 2-4 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Luther Memorial Church in loving memory of Betty.

She lived in the spirit of Florence Nightingale and was as gentle as a baby rabbit.
