Service Details

Heath Plautz, 44, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on October 8, 2017. He was born April 21, 1973, in Spencer, Iowa, to Glenda “Jeani” and Virgil Plautz, Jr.

Heath was an electrician for Custom Electric.

Heath was Michelle’s heart, love, soulmate, and friend forever. The love they shared will not be forgotten. Heath was loved by many, and blessed many lives in his short 44 years here with us. He will be greatly missed! We love you Heath!

Heath enjoyed spending time with his family, his boys, and nephews. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed wrestling, track, and football, especially watching the Iowa State Cyclones and Dallas Cowboys. Heath was always willing to help whoever needed help and loved assisting with whatever sports his sons were playing. He often had encouraging words for the team, advice on how to improve, or just to say ‘good job’ to the boys.

Heath also enjoyed reading a good book, singing karaoke and having fun. He loved his craft beers, “teasing” people, cracking jokes, and was best at making people laugh.

Heath is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; sons, Christian and Camron Plautz; mother, Jeani Plautz; brother, Hal (Lindsay) Platuz; nephews, Nick and Nate Plautz; as well as other loving family and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Jr.; grandparents, Arlene and Glene Youde; two aunts and four uncles.

A celebration of his life gathering will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Polk City Community Center, 309 Van Doren Street in Polk City, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Heath.
