Donald Goin

Donald Eugene Goin, 74, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Mercy Hospice in Johnson. He was born November 16, 1942, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Mansel and Lorna (Barbara) Goin.

Donald is survived by his wife, Marlene; step-children: Mike (Karen) Pewick, Curtis Pewick, Mindi (Larry) Ginger, Edward Holst, Rhonda (Gerald) Thiele, John (Karen) Holst, and Julia (David) Millard; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Ann Courtney, and first wife Ginny Goin.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with funeral starting at 12 p.m., on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial with military honors will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa.
