Service Details
Lynn Bernal was born into eternal life by knowing her Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday September 8, 2017.
Lynn was born in Arnolds Park, Iowa on February 11, 1950 but spent most of her life in Dubuque, Iowa. The last 20 years were in Des Moines.
A highly spirited, energetic, woman, Lynn had many business ventures mostly in Direct Marketing, owned a craft store and sold Log Cabins. She was very talented in Interior Design and made homes beautiful! Her last venture up until her illness, was in estate planning, where her clients, were her family and she truly lived her motto, “obsessively, relentlessly at your service!” Lynn enjoyed scuba diving, gardening, canning, loved animals and loved to entertain.
A graveside service will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, September 20th, at Glendale Cemetery 4909 University Avenue, in Des Moines
Survivors include her three children Jim Brown of Dubuque, Dana Knockle of Freemont, Nebraska and Jillian Bernal of Des Moines. Cousins Sandy Courtney, Judith Roberts and Susan Elliott
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Vi Zahina, her son Lance Kennedy, and a brother and a sister.

Lynn Bernal, by knowing her Savior Jesus Christ, was born into eternal life on Sept. 8, 2017. Lynn was born in Dubuque, Iowa and moved to Des Moines about 22 years ago. A highly spirited, energetic woman, Lynn had many business ventures. They included owning a craft store and selling log cabins. Her last venture was estate planning where her clients, were like family, where she truly lived her motto,"Obsessively, relentlessly, at your service!" Lynn had a love for animals and loved to entertain. She enjoyed crafts, canning, gardening, scuba diving, and interior design.
