Chhith Ven

Chhith Ven, age 74, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, August 16, 2017.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.

Chhith was born March 25, 1943, in Pailin, Cambodia. He served in the Cambodian Army as a younger man. Chhith retired from Steel Works. Some of his favorite pastimes included fishing, soccer, and riding his bike. Chhith was always willing to help people in need.

He is survived by his daughters, Saveoun Chhith-Da, Savy Chhith and Allison Chornuck; granddaughters, Taylor Da-Nguyen, Jenny Villagra and Emma Chornuck; and his grandsons, Scott Mit, Derek Mit and Chad Mit.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sambun Soeun; parents, Ven and Sey Bin; and his brothers, Runn Ven, Channe Ven and Vanna Ven.
