Marlene Frankford

Marlene Marie Frankford, 81, passed away peacefully Monday, July 10, 2017, at Prairie Vista in Altoona, Iowa after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Services will be held Friday, July 14, 2017, at Eastside Church of the Nazarene, 1451 East 25th Street, Des Moines, IA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Guests are invited to stay for a luncheon. Following the lunch, burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 1:30 p.m.

Marlene was born January 12, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Ivan and Ilah (Purdy) Yarrington. She is survived by her sons, Walt Frankford, Jr. and Kelly (Jennifer) Frankford, grandchildren, Jesse, Joanna, Jonny, Travis, Kelsie and Alana, great grandchildren, Tre, Krista, Timmy, Noah, Liam and Ryker, and her brothers, Larry and Kenny Yarrington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt, Sr., with whom she treasured 60 years of marriage, her brother, Floyd, and her parents.
