Lovenia Parks

Lovenia M. Parks, 90, passed away May 21, 2017, at Panora Specialty Care in Panora, IA. She was born May 9, 1927, in Emerson, IA to Orvia and Gladys Rinehart.

Lovenia worked for F.W. Woolworth for 20 years and then went to work at Nationwide Insurance from where she retired.

Lovenia had a strong faith and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in DeSoto, IA. She loved her family, crocheting, crafting, ceramics, and square dancing.

Lovenia is survived by her son, Billie (Marilyn) Parks; grandchildren, Michael Parks, Theresa (John) Hopkins and David (Jessica) Parks; great-grandchildren, Justin, Shawn, Timithy, Preston, Brooke, John, Ian, Travis, Tylor, Haley, Jasmine, Brayden, and Cody; great great-grandchildren, Chad, Rhyker, Layla, Madelynn, Laura Rae, Landon, Lincoln, Addison, Amilia, Olivia, and Brentley; siblings, Shirley (Chuck) Rowe and Gearl Rinehart; many nieces and nephews, as well as other loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald (Wanda) Rinehart; sister, Patricia (Ronnie) Offeld; and sister-in-law, Velma Rinehart.

Visitation will be held at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., with the service to begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will conclude the service at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Calvary Baptist Church in loving memory of Lovenia.
