Service Details
Sherry Mae Plessel, 60, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Taylor House Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2600 E. Euclid Ave, followed by a reception.
Sherry was born in Great Lakes, Illinois to Perry and Eleanore Chapin on Valentine’s Day in 1957. Des Moines was home to her from the time she was a few months old. A loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be greatly missed.
Left to honor her memory are her father, Perry Chapin; four children, Tonya Dudley (Marty), P.J. Pilkington, Terry Stewart, Jr. (Ericka) and Gina Payne; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. She has also left behind her brother, Scott Chapin (Vicky), sister Laurie Reeves and lifelong friend Janice Gillespie. She is now reunited in heaven with her mother, Eleanore Chapin.

Sherry, you were such a kind soul, I will truly cherish the moments we had. I will miss your kind soul and sense of humour. You will be always be missed greatly.

Mom. It's Tonya and Marty we miss you so much. What a great "Rummy" player. You did win alot and you made sure that you had won the last game before you went back to Janice's.
