Nancy Balmer Wolff

Des Moines

Nancy was born July 12, 1934, to Herbert and Ruth Froberg in Chicago, IL where she lived until age 20. She passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Kennybrook Village in Grimes, Iowa.

Nancy attended Wheaton College and then married Clarence Balmer, a student at Trinity College. They were married 43 years and pastored several churches in the Midwest. Clarence passed away in 1997 and after several years, Nancy met and married Andrew Wolff from Wisconsin. They were married almost 10 years until his passing in 2014.

Nancy was a member of Westchester Evangelical Free Church for many years and enjoyed women’s ministries. She made yeast breads often, sharing with family and friends. Nancy liked quilting and sewing; and enjoyed being with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by five sons, Randall (Katharine) of Norwich, VT, Kenneth (Bette) of Franklin, NC, David (Anita) of Howell, MI, Brian (Vicki) of Johnston, IA, and Mark (Charmaine) of Freeport, IL; 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two step-daughters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Westchester Evangelical Free Church with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Private family interment will follow services at Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Clarence Balmer Memorial Scholarship Fund at Trinity Western University or Westchester Evangelical Free Church.
