Shirley Jean Bos, age 81, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., with funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Rising Sun Cemetery.

Shirley was born February 23, 1936 in Davis County, Iowa to Harry, Sr. and Hildred (Roberts) Hunter. She was a member of Woodland Community Church.

Shirley is survived by her son, Wesley (Joni); daughter, Deborah (Daniel) Bos Blanco; grandchildren, Melissa (Jack) Strable, Brian (Chandal) Bos, Abby (Dwayne) Benoit, and Nichole (Justin) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Zachary Bloomer, Jason Bloomer Jr., Alexuis Bloomer, and Lucas Benoit; siblings, Harry Hunter, Gene Hunter, Frances Waterman, Florence Cooper and Genevieve Wheeler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
