Dennis Howard

Dennis L. Howard, 77, passed away March 26, 2017 at Mercy Hospital.

Dennis was born on June 28, 1939 in Alden, Iowa and spent most of his childhood in Moulton, Iowa. He grew up playing basketball. In later years, he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball with the Police Department. Dennis was a mechanic for Schaller & Sons for over 30 years. He was married to Norma Stevenson May 16, 1957. Together they had two children. He married Teresa Flannery on September 10, 1994.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Teresa; children, Kathryn (Steve Weeks) and Robert (Evelyn); six grandchildren, Valerie (George) Yeager, Robb Eklov, Cody Eklov (Whitney), Jeremy Howard, Katie Howard and Jonathan Howard; nine great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Harold Howard and Evelyn Lewin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, La Verne and Mona Howard; sister, Janie Ballanger; grandson, Joshua Howard; son-in-law, Robert Eklov; brother-in-law, Floyd Lewin: his half-brother, Robert Howard and his half-sister, Betty Harvey.

The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
