Jean Hunter

Jean Hunter was born in River Edge, New Jersey on August 3, 1931, living most of her life in the Chicagoland area. She passed away on March 20, 2017, in West Des Moines, IA.

Jean attended Iowa State College and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She was an avid supporter of both and served on the Chicago area Iowa State University Alumni Association Board. Some of her closest lifelong friends were her sorority sisters.

After college Jean worked in the food industry. Jean worked for Kraft, and Stange before starting her own company, Jean Hunter Sales & Marketing. She was also the national spokeswoman for Allied Van Lines for 6 plus years.

Jean was devoted to her brother, and his two sons as well as to her many close friends. Jean was a caregiver to almost everyone she met, willing to lend a hand to whoever, whenever needed.

Jean is survived by her brother Robert of Illinois, and nephews Robert (Marguerite), a great niece and two great nephews of Gig Harbor, WA, and Glenn (Annette) and two great nephews of Ankeny, IA.

The family will hold private services.
