Erma "Collene" Glover

Erma “Collene” Glover
Des Moines
formerly of California

Erma Glover, known as Collene by friends and family, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Collene was born December 12, 1934, to Glenn and Ruby Edwards. She was a resident of California for most of her life. She married Norman Perry in 1952. After Norman passed, she married Troy Glover. She was a member of New Life Community Church in Crescent City, CA and was involved in a ladies group there. Collene enjoyed collecting agate rocks near the ocean and constructed a driftwood cross for her church. Collene and her family moved frequently, but always stayed in California. She worked at Pelican Bay Prison for 12 years in the trust department before retiring. Collene loved watching tennis on television and was a good tennis player herself in high school. She enjoyed animals, especially cats, and would often feed and play with the neighborhood cats.

Collene is survived by her children, Brenda (Larry) Botts and Norman Perry; sister, Hedy Junette; grandchildren, Kimberly (Eddie) Meigs-Jaimes and Ethan Meigs; great-grandchildren, Jade Jaimes, Julianne Jaimes, and Katilyn Meigs; as well as other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Perry; second husband, Troy Glover; brother, Darrel (Jackie) Edwards; and her grandson, James Meigs.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Please check the website: www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com for details.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Collene.
