Ernest R. Seiberling

Ernest R. Seiberling passed away on February 9, 2017, in Weslaco, TX. He was born October 13, 1927, to Leslie and Emily Seiberling of Mitchellville. He spent most of his early years in Mitchellville and dropped out of high school and joined the U.S. Navy toward the end of WWII.

Ernest had several different jobs in his life, but the one he was most proud of was his retirement after 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy.

Left to cherish Ernest’s memory are his three brothers, Floyd (Dona), Carl (Hazel), and Dale (Juanita), as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three wives, Lorraine, Eva Jo, and Agnes; brothers, Melvin, James, Gordon, and Don; and a sister, Eolian Griffith.

A special thank-you goes to our niece, Carlene and her husband, Tom Chebuhar, for their loving care of Ernest preceding his death.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2017, at Hamilton’s Mitchellville Funeral Home, 303 Center Avenue S. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday at Mitchellville Christian Church, 210 3rd Street NW with burial to follow at Mitchellville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be given to charities of Ernest’s choice.
