James "Shake" Davis, Jr.

James “Shake” Lawrence Davis, Jr. passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Hospital.

Shake was born December 6, 1953 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina to James Lawrence, Sr. and Mary Frances Davis. He was an avid New York Yankees, New England Patriots, Alabama Crimson Tide and North High School fan. He loved to fish and was a master grill man.

Shake is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Teressa Buban-Davis; brothers, Elwood, Christopher, Walter and William; sister, Carolyn; mother-in-law, Mary Buban; in-laws, Carol (Jim) Herrig, Fred (Kristy) Buban and Kim (Mark) Stitt; best buddy, George “Zee” Key; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will greet friends Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Shake.
