Paul Eugene Peppmeier was born June 3, 1931 in Spencer, Iowa to Amos and Mary (Warren) Peppmeier. He worked as an electrician and was a member of IEBW 347. He proudly served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Paul passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the age of 85.
Services will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 600 6th Avenue, Des Moines on Monday, August 29, 2016. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Shirley; children, Bill (Karen) Peppmeier and Angie (Bob) Bates; grandchildren, Kelly (Mike), Luke (Megan), Paul (Cassidy), and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Caden, Ayla, Colby, Colton, Amzie, and Lily; and his siblings, Henry (Carrie), Mary (Leo), and Dale. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Lucille, Ella Mae, and Harold.

This condolence is terribly belated. I regret that I did not know Paul, but his father and my grandfather Carl Peppmeier were brothers and I remember visiting the Peppmeiers at Spencer many years ago. I salute his service to his country.

Uncle Pauls photo tells it all. Still the same loving caring smiling face I have always remembered. He had such a gentle kind caring personality that was very unique I never knew him to discredit , harm or insult anybody. He truely was a very special one of a kind gentleman. May he rest in peace. May God Bless Shirley, Bill Angie and the rest of the family with comfort and peace as they go thru this difficult time. Our prayers, hearts and thought go out to u all. Lots of Love to All of You.
