Cadijah Lundeen, age 99 passed away on June 29, 2016. Mrs. Lundeen was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and moved to Des Moines in 1944. She retired from Smouse School for handicapped children. She had a passion for working with special needs kids. She was a loving mother of seven children, grandmother of 14, and great-grandma of 23.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank-you to Carlisle Care Center and St. Croix Hospice and all of the nurses and staff who showed our mother unconditional love and care.

She is survived by her five children, Donald (Carolyn) Lundeen, Karen Penzsky, Robert Lundeen, Deborah (Peter) Babowitch, and Kimberly Scavo; her sister, Mary Alice Whitson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be greeted in Heaven by her loving husband, Donald Lundeen, Sr.; daughter, JoAnna Nisser; son George Lundeen; and grandsons, Bill Lundeen and Brian Scavo.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2016, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016, also at Hamilton’s followed by burial at Colfax Cemetery in Colfax, Iowa.
